Our journey
Inspired!
Hexpress Healthcare was founded in 2001. As with many businesses, it all started with a passing thought. Our founders and their friends, a pharmacist and a doctor, were discussing the future of healthcare and how it could be made more accessible, whilst providing discretion for more sensitive conditions. They believed this could be best achieved by creating an online doctor and pharmacy service. At the time, this was a pretty revolutionary idea!
We're live
A year later, in 2002, this became a reality. After extensive research, late nights and plenty of caffeine, we launched the first online doctor and pharmacy service in the UK. It was hard work, with the small team working together as customer service, couriers, and project leaders.

In 2005, the company expanded into seven new countries. Since then, we have focused on building a competent, multilingual and passionate team that knows you and what you need as a patient.

We believe in personal contact and personalised care. It is therefore incredibly important for us to have customer service representatives for every market - that way, you can access hands-on advice whenever you need it. People are the key to success. So as we expanded, our team of doctors and medical advisers expanded too.
First app
In 2013, we launched our first app, another step towards making prescription medicine available anywhere, at any time. As a company, we are always looking for new ways to embrace technology. It’s what set us apart from our competitors at the very beginning and is what allows us to increase healthcare accessibility.
In-house doctors
Serving over a million people across Europe and South America led us to recruit a complete in-house medical team. Our doctors all have different specialities and backgrounds - this means we can provide safe yet efficient care across all markets.
New website
Our most recent development is this new website which embodies our passion for personalised healthcare. The website features an ‘Advise me’ section, a multiple-product basket and a blog. At 121doc, you can find information on different treatments, discover what medicine is most effective for you and receive unrivalled support and service.
Patient safety
The safety of our patients is paramount. Our doctors will never prescribe a treatment unless they are sure that it is beneficial and safe for you to take. We provide full medical support before, during and after your treatment. Your details are fully protected and we guarantee complete confidentiality in all areas of our service, from consultation to delivery.
The MHRA, the UK regulator for medicines, has authorised us to sell prescription medication online.
We are on the official register of the ICO, the UK's independent authority set up to uphold information rights in the public interest.
